We are excited to bring some new changes that will make vtiger CRM more easier to use. Here are the key changes in this month’s update (deployed on February 4th).

Redesigned Main Menu – Simple and Configurable  (video)

We introduced a flat menu to simplify navigation and reduce the number of clicks. Instead of the 2 level menu structure, which was a source of confusion for many users, the redesigned menu only has one level. Key modules are now accessible with a single click.  Administrators will be able to configure the menu order using Menu Editor in Settings page.

Lead Conversion is more intuitive

The new lead conversion popup will make it more easier to understand what happens when a lead is converted, and also provide more control (for example, users can choose not to create an Account ).

Hide and Show feature of home page widgets made easy   (doc, video)

Default Widgets can now be enabled and disabled from the home page.

In our continuing efforts to improve the user experience with the product, we are leaving no stone unturned. This includes areas outside the product, such as website, forums, and wiki site.

Today, We upgraded our main wiki site and in the process moved to the latest version of MediaWiki. We made changes to simplify the navigation to make it easier to find content. We are also improving the feature and developer documentation.

Collaborative authoring (with community members) will be back up soon. Please give us sometime to get the ground ready for the same.

We welcome your feedback and suggestions.

We are pleased to begin the new year by introducing the following feature enhancements and usability improvements. These were included in the latest update of the On Demand service (deployed on Jan 7th).

Feature Enhancements

‘View History’ of a record

See a timeline of the changes made on a record, by using the ‘View History’  feature.  Know which field is changed, by whom, and when while seeing its present and earlier values.

‘Create Record’ feature in Workflow

Until now, workflows only supported the ability to automate email notifications and event creation. Now, one can automatically create other types of records (Tickets, Contacts, Potentials, Project Tasks,..) through workflows. For example, this feature can be used to automatically add Project Tasks when a new Project is created.

Faster and Better Import functionality

We redesigned the import program to reduce the import time and make it more robust. For example, you can now import 1000 records in less than 1 minute.

Webform integration is now more easier

A new module has been added to help with the creation of webforms that can be easily embedded into your websites. The webforms are tied into vtiger CRM to create Leads in vtiger CRM automatically when the form is submitted.

Usability Improvements

Improved Contextual Help window

You can now reposition the page help widget anywhere in the window. We also added the links to the documentation, videos, and FAQ section to this window.

Unified interface to manage scheduled jobs

From the Scheduler page, Administrators can now control how frequently jobs such as Workflows and Mail Converter should run.
