Vtiger CRM Android App 2.8 Released – Push CRM Notifications to Your Mobile App

If you’re a Vtiger CRM Android app user, then you’re probably aware that new updates have been rolled out between once and twice a month to compliment changes in Vtiger CRM, and to build in functionality that we think compliments a mobile CRM experience. Today’s update serves the latter case – we’re pleased to announce the enablement of push-based CRM notifications in the newest version (2.8) of the app.

If push notifications and related workflows are correctly configured, then if, for example, a customer sends an email that automatically creates a ticket in Vtiger, a notification pop-up will appear on your mobile phone screen indicating so. Tapping on the notification will take you directly to the ticket’s detail view, ensuring faster response times. Push notifications can be applied to virtually all notification types in Vtiger.

For push notifications to be enabled, start by downloading the latest version of the Android app. Push notifications also require the creation of a workflow in Vtiger CRM, with the workflow’s task set to create a “mobile push notification”. In the Vtiger CRM Mobile app, a new “Notifications” menu item allows you to configure which notifications you would like to receive on your mobile app regardless of what the server is sending.

In addition to the enablement of push notifications in this update, the calendar list view’s UI was given an overhaul. For more information on what went into the Vtiger CRM update that enabled this improved mobile app functionality, see our updates page. To download the Vtiger CRM Android or iPhone apps, find them on the Android Play Store or Apple App Store.
