It has been a few weeks since we last posted about the 5.1 progress. Today, we updated our demo site with the latest development build (more details below).  In the last few weeks, we had to slow down on 5.1  because of some customer commitments. On the bright side, that means we have more  enhancements coming into 5.1!

First a Thank you Note:

Today’s update includes some key contributions from our new partner in UK, On Tap Networks. I would like to thank Dan Garner and the team at On Tap for their efforts in ensuring a seamless integration. Features 1-3 below came from OnTap.  I especially like the Layout Editor!

New features:-
1. Layout Editor
2. Option to Re-arrange the products in Quotes/Invoices/Sales Orders
3. Previous and Next buttons for ease of navigation
4. Customer portal enhancements
Other features added in previous updates of 5.1:-

* Recyclebin
* Role-based Custom views
* Documents module
* Popup Reminder for Calendar Events
* Multi Currency Support
* Duplicate Records Handling
* User Configurable ID for SO/PO/Quotes
* Custom fields in Email templates
* Local Backup Feature
* ‘Assign to Group’ option during Convert Lead
* Sending mail to Vendors (Similar to Accounts/Contacts/Users)
* Mailing Quote, SO, PO PDF directly similar to Invoice PDF
* Create Product through Quick Create
* Calendar Events filter based on Users

5.1 dev build demo:

Important Note: Following is an intermediate development build of vtiger CRM. So, please do not  use it in production. We are making it available only for community feedback.

What’s next?

We still have a few weeks of development work in 5.1 including on Asterisk integration, web services API, mobile client, ..etc. After that, we will freeze the code and continue validation for a couple of months. So, while we are not at a point where we can provide a date for the final release, we are definitely making progress towards that!

Please try out the demo and let us know what you think.
